    Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic non-profit professional to join a dynamic fundraising team and help sister stations 90.5 WESA and 91.3 WYEP enrich the community through excellent, award-winning journalism and independent music. The Development Services Coordinator provides administrative and donor service support for the development department, including database management, gift processing, clerical support and general customer service to ensure the fundraising success of Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting.
  • Position Overview:
    The Director of Audiences & Brand Strategy will drive listening, engagement and measurable consumer interaction with our products and services by envisioning, developing and executing effective and quantifiable strategies and activities. This position is responsible for creating growth in our overall audience service and our membership ranks, working with our broadcast, streaming and digital platforms to grow participants and listeners and to drive more frequent engagement with them by individual users. This position will work with the events staff to bring more attendees to live events and increase the frequency of attendance by individual attendees. The Director of Audiences and Brand Strategy supervises two direct reports within the department.

    The Fill-in Producer will assist the Morning Edition Host or The Confluence, a daily news show, with program preparation, newscasts, interviews, and other duties. The work hours will vary as this position is needed to fill-in for vacation schedules. This part-time position reports to the News Director.

    Position Summary:
    Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting is hiring a Morning Radio News Editor/Producer to join our award winning, dynamic and ambitious newsroom. The Morning Radio News Editor/Producer will write and edit news stories for use in WESA newscasts in Morning Edition and The Confluence. The job includes working with the News Director and Managing Editor to define the nature and style of WESA’s broadcast newscast stories, writing and editing stories for half-hourly newscasts, and partnering with the Morning Edition host to set the rundown for each newscast. The start time for the shift will generally be in the range of 3-4am, but hours may change (temporarily or permanently) depending on daily news requirements and without notice. The Morning Radio News Editor/Producer reports to the News Director.
  • Position Overview:
    91.3 WYEP is Pittsburgh's source for adult alternative music and for musical discovery. Since 1974, it has been a treasured cultural resource for all of Western Pennsylvania. WYEP has opportunities available for students who are looking for hands-on experience in digital production including video editing. There are also opportunities for students to learn music programming and use of broadcast and automation software.

    The Music Internship teaches students about music programming in general and triple-A format programming in particular. Working with the Music Director, students will learn to review new music and prepare it for possible airplay. Duties and responsibilities for this unpaid position include the following.

Internships are unpaid and no representation is made in regard to the availability of a paid position at the end of the internship. Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school program. Academic Credit can be awarded based on mutual agreement between the intern's school and 90.5 WESA.

    The Production internship is attached to The Confluence, a daily news program hosted by Kevin Gavin. This internship teaches students how to produce a live broadcast program. The goal is to prepare the student for an entry-level production role. Duties and responsibilities for this unpaid position include the following.
