What is the EITC Program?
EITC is the Educational Improvement Tax Credit, which allows companies to support local non-profit organizations and receive significant tax credits. Companies making a two-year commitment receive a 90% tax credit, while those making a one-year commitment receive a 75% credit.
The program is offered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting Corporation participates with the Reimagination Project through WYEP.
The Reimagination Project is a unique approach to music education for high school teens from the Pittsburgh region. WYEP partners with local producers, musicians, and recording studios to build the mentoring experience.
Over the past nine years, WYEP has engaged more than 240 young musicians looking to hone their skills, learn about the music industry and prepare to launch their careers. Reimagination alumni include GRAMMY-Award winning artist Daya, Emmy-Award winning artist Jessica Bitsura, American Idol contestant Sloane Simon, and blues phenom, Pierce Dipner.
